Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineer

Education

I have recently completed a Master degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. My B.S. degree is also from the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Both of them obtained at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU).

I coursed and finished high school in Colima, Mexico. In 2015 I obtained a scholarship from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan, Taiwan to study Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. I finished my undergraduate studies in 4 years. Then I was awarded with another scholarship to continue my graduate studies in the same department. After 2 years I've just finished my master studies.

1

High school (2010-2013)

Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) (Mexico)
2

Bachelor of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering (2015-2019)

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) (Taiwan)
Research Topic: The Aerodynamics and Water Tunnel Testing of a Wingsuit

3

Master of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering (2020-2022)

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) (Taiwan)
Research topic: Wake Flow Characteristics of a Circular Cylinder Undergoing Vortex-Induced Vibration

My Master's research investigates the characteristics of the wake behind an elastically suspended circular cylinder undergoing vortex-induced vibration.
A Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system is used to visualize the flow in a low speed wind tunnel. The vortices in the wake are detected using the Q-criterion.

Experiments and results

PIV test in a low speed wind tunnel

The PIV experiment in action

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) test of an elastically suspended circular cylinder in a low speed wind tunnel during Vortex-Induced Vibration (VIV). The seeding particles are of Aluminum Oxide.

Vortical structure / Raw images from PIV test

Vortical structure visualization

These are the vortical structure results of the circular cylinder undergoing VIV. The phase average technique is applied to attain a clearer visualization, and the vortices are obtained using the Q-criterion.

More about me

In my free time I like drawing and designing 3D objects and 3D print them. I like making videos of my travels and activities. For sport I like to play football soccer, I play as goalkeeper. I am very interested in skydiving so I am taking an AFF course, the first step to get a skydiving license.
3D projects

I learnt and use the software CATIA to design 3D objects. I use an Ender 3 V2 to 3D print my designs.

Video editing

I have a YouTube channel (Explorando Asia) where I upload videos of my travels and activities.

Sports

I like outdoor activities. I play soccer, I practice calisthenics and I am learning skydiving.
